Take control of your PhD journey: Manage your research data according to best practice

How to manage your research data - a beginner's guide to best practice

Research data are the foundation of research projects within most fields. They allow you to draw new conclusions about the subject. In this seminar, you will get an introduction into how research data should be managed according to best practice at all stages of your research project. This includes how to write a solid data management plan at the outset of your project, how to structure, document, and preserve your data during your project, and, finally, how to archive and share your data in suitable repositories. Practical guidelines on these matters will help you to control your research project throughout your PhD studies.

Good research data management and sharing is also essential for scientific transparency and the increase and spread of knowledge. This is also one of the reasons why more and more research funders request the data produced in projects they have financed to be made openly available. The competence and skills you acquire in this seminar will make you well prepared to fulfill present and future requests from research funding agencies.

The seminar is organized by Philipp Conzett and Lars Figenschou.

Light refreshments will be served during the break.

This seminar is a freestanding part of the seminar series Take control of your PhD journey: From (p)reflection to publishing.
