I 2015 er det 40 år siden Marokkos okkupasjon av Vest-Sahara startet.
Siden våpenhvilen i 1991 mellom Marokko og Vest-Sahara har FN styrken MINURSO vært stasjonert i området. MINURSO er FNs eneste operasjon uten mandat til å rapportere om menneskerettighetsbrudd.
Dette har tvunget dem til å være vitne til brutale angrep utført av den marokkanske politiet mot den saharawiske befolkningen...
Politisk nestleder i SAIH, Emilie Larsen Ørneseidet har nettopp vært i Vest-Sahara og vil snakke om opplevelsene sine der, og om hvorfor SAIH har Vest-Sahara som kampanjetema!
Joanna Allan er fra Storbritannia og har forsket på Vest Sahara-konflikten siden 2006. Hun vil snakke om rapporten «Acting with Impunity: Morocco`s Human Rights Violations in Western Sahara and the Silence of the International Community» som dokumenterer omfanget av brudd på menneskerettigheter i Afrikas siste koloni.
Vi får også besøk av Hamza Lakhal. Han er født og oppvokst i Vest-Sahara. Som følge av hans engasjement har han personlig måttet erfare Marokkos okkupasjon og brutalitet – han ble også utvist fra skolen og fikk ikke fortsette sin utdanning på 12 år.

Since the ceasefire in 1991 between Morocco and Western Sahara, the UN force MINURSO been stationed in the area. MINURSO is the UN only operation without a mandate to report on human rights violations.

Joanna Allan is from the UK and has researched Western Sahara conflict since 2006. She will talk about the report "Acting with impunity: Human Rights Violations Morocco`s in Western Sahara and the Silence of the International Community" that documents the extent of human rights violations in Africa's last colony.
Hamza Lakhal was born and raised in Western Sahara. As a result of his involvement he has had personal experience Morocco's occupation and brutality - he was also expelled from school and was not able continue his education for 12 years.
