Material Science Group

The Material Science Group was established in 2018 within the Industrial Technology Department in the Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology at UiT. Research activities cover the optimization of materials on ongoing processes, the study of new operation conditions such as arctic weather conditions, as well as new applications. Materials studied include gas, liquid, and solid materials. The research goals of the group prioritize education and environmentally friendly technology. The group is well supported by laboratory equipment such as MNR and Raman spectroscopy, that allow characterization of materials. The group collaborates with industry through research and academic projects involving students at different levels.
