The M2 Research Group

The M2 Research Group (M2RG) specializes in using multi-omics, ecology and advanced cultivation for translating fundamental biology into new engineering design principles related to carbon capture, bioproducts and other sustainability issues.

We study marine microalgae, complex microbial communities and non-traditional hosts for the purposes of biodesign and control.

Founded in 2019, the M2RG is in the Norwegian College of Fishery Sciences within the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics. Our team also coordinates activities related to greenhouse gas managment, within the Arctic Centre for Sustainable Energy - ARC.
