Quality indicators in community pharmacies

Health care service quality is difficult to measure, and it is challenging to develop reliable and validated quality measuring tools. Nevertheless, health politicians and researchers favor to governor the development of health care services according to quality standards. This has led to the development of quality indicators (QIs), which are well-defined, measurable factors that provide an indirect indication of health care service quality.

This project aims to develop and validate national QIs that measure overall service quality. These QIs will aid key stakeholders and healthcare personnel to develop the quality of pharmacy services further, and potentially help patients/customers to take informed decisions regarding the use of services in the future.

The first part of the project was "Exploring stakeholders' perspectives on the quality of services provided through community pharmacies"

The second part of the project was the "Development of quality indicators for a community pharmacy setting"
