Including the patient in interprofessional learning and collaboration

The project aimed to explore the patient's role in interprofessional clinical placements for health professions students. Moving towards a team-based approach to the patient is emphasized as a means to contribute to a more sustainable healthcare service. Educational institutions provide opportunities for interprofessional education (IPE), where students learn with, from, and about each other to ensure the development of collaborative competence. The project explored how encounters with people in authentic situations contribute to collaborative learning and the importance of integrating a patient's perspective into teamwork. The thesis provides new perspectives on patient involvement in education and IPE.
