Obesity
Obesity is a chronic disease with many facets representing significant health challenges on a global scale. It arises from a complex of inherited risk (genetic predisposition), environmental factors, and behavioral patterns.
Our research initiatives follow different tracks, spanning hormonal changes related to meals, the integration of E-health and Mobile Health interventions, innovative weight-loss strategies, and connections between mental health, socioeconomic factors, and obesity.
Subprojects cover subjects like
- Early biomarkers for obesity-related disease: Investigating changes in blood after meals to understand their impact on obesity related disease like type 2 diabetes.
- E-health and Mobile Health: Exploring technological interventions to support obesity management, utilizing e-health and mobile health solutions for improved healthcare delivery.
- Weight-loss Interventions: Developing and assessing innovative strategies for weight loss, aiming to enhance efficacy and sustainability in obesity care.
- Mental Health and Obesity: Examining the intricate relationship between mental health issues and obesity, recognizing the mutual influence and addressing the psychological aspects of obesity.
