Data privacy


All participants have consented to the collection and further use of personal data. As participants, you have the right to know what personal information Fit Futures have collected and correct any incorrect data. Participation is voluntary. You may withdraw at any time, no questions asked. You may also demand that we delete your personal information unless your information has already been anonymized, published, or used in completed analyses. Please read our information letters, questionnaries and consent forms (in norwegian) for more information.

As a participant, you are insured under the patient injury compensation scheme.

UiT The Arctic University of Norway is responsible for processing collected personal data. The Norwegian Data Protection Authority has granted Fit Futures a license for the first and second data collections (FF1 and FF2). The Regional Committee for Medical and Health Research Ethics has also supported FF1 and FF2. The processing of personal data in Fit Futures 3 is approved by Sikt – the Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research and is in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and other relevant regulations.

Research data and a coupling key is stored on separate access-controlled, secure, digital platforms. EUTRO, our research administrative tool, provides an overview of our health data, biological material and project information. The biological material is stored in UiTs Core Facility for Biobank and the Environmental Pollutant Laboratory at UNN HF.

The lawfull basis for processing participants personal information is that it is necessary to perform a task in the public interest, cf. article 6 1 e or article 9 2 j GDPR.
