Non-genomic progesterone receptors including membrane GPCR (mPR) and PGRMC (progesterone receptor membrane components)

In addition to the well-known nuclear progesterone receptors (PRA and PRB),  a class of non-nuclear  has lately been introduced and partly characterized (mPR and PGRMC). However, the knowledge of their pharmacological effect in vivo is virtually unknown. This project aims to find substances that can be used for specific signaling through the non-genomic receptors, thereby avoid adverse effects from activation of nuclear receptors.
