Our aim is to use the existing data from the Tromsø survey (TS) to understand the causes, mechanisms, and factors associated with impaired mental health in patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases (CVD). To achieve this, we have formulated two hypotheses. The first one is that CVD affects the mental health of individuals both before and after the first CVD event.
