Computational Pharmacology

About us

The Computational Pharmacology Research Group (CompPharm) uses quantitative and computational approaches to understand and predict the disposition, effects and use of drugs.

Our research includes mathematical and mechanistic modelling of drug treatment, with a focus on treatment strategies and interventions, drug resistance and infectious diseases. By combining experimental and clinical data with pharmacokinetic, statistical and mathematical modelling, we study drug disposition and treatment response – from preclinical studies and individual patients to populations.

Our pharmacokinetic research spans preclinical and clinical studies, drug metabolism, pharmacometrics and model-informed precision dosing (MIPD). We also apply pharmacokinetic and bioanalytical approaches in anti-doping research to investigate the disposition and detection of drugs and their metabolites.

We work closely with pharmacists, clinicians, experimental scientists, analytical chemists, mathematicians, and researchers from other quantitative disciplines to improve our understanding and prediction of drug disposition, effects and treatment outcomes.
