The CandRAS project aims to develop knowledge and capacity for innovation in the aquaculture industry, focusing on Northern Norway. It seeks to enhance collaboration between research, education, and business sectors by aligning R&D and teaching with industry needs. Currently, there are no specific RAS biology courses in Northern Norway, so the project will develop educational programs at various levels. A postdoctoral position will be established to initiate research on fish, system, and water quality interactions, with further research fellowships funded by the project. The project will also support an industrial PhD and aims to strengthen aquaculture expertise and analytical chemistry capacity at UiT, while fostering regional and international collaboration.
