- En studie fra 2012 viser en sammenheng mellom indikatorer på assimilering og dårlig selvrapportert helse blant grønlendere og urfolkskvinner i Alaska. Ingen slik sammenheng ble funnet blant samer i Norge og urfolksmenn i Alaska (Eliassen BM, Braaten T, Melhus M, Hansen KL, Broderstad AR. Acculturation and self-rated health among Arctic indigenous peoples: a population-based cross sectional study. BMC Public Health 2012, 12:948).
- Informasjon om selvmordstanker var tilgjengelig i datasettene fra Alaska, Grønland, Sverige og Norge. Selvmordstanker var mest vanlige i Grønland. Sverige rapporterte færrest slike tanker. Stratifiserte analyser viste at forskjellene landene imellom var kun tilstede i de yngste aldersgruppene. Utdanningsnivå forklarte delvis disse forskjellene. (Broderstad AR, Eliassen B-M, Melhus M.
