2023/24 Exhibition

“Memories of Forced Labour”

headed by Nikolai Ssorin-Chaikov

Travelling exhibition “Memories of Forced Labour”, headed by Nikolai Ssorin-Chaikov. Inspired by the temporary exhibition “Grossraum: Organization Todt and Forced Labour in Norway” shown at Teknisk Museum, Oslo within the framework of the project “In a World of Total War. Norway 1939-1945”, this work package will develop a MA level hands-on course. By involving 10 MA students from the partner institutions in the development of a travelling exhibition on the forced-labour built infrastructures from the war, the project will provide an opportunity for close engagement with historical knowledge and the conception of professional activities (representations of the past in museum exhibitions). The course will partially build on topics and materials discussed within WP4 and the exhibition “Soviet Prisoners of War in Norway 1941-1945”. Designed as an applied course of 10 ECTS over 1 year, the students will participate in different tasks, following the progression of the exhibition. The students will be encouraged to continuously reflect on the subject and the process. The aim of the course is to provide the students with generic skills for professional activity in an international context and to provide them, as well as the partner institutions, with a better understanding on the integration between subject and skills.
