My research focuses on the (environmental) governance of marine economic activities. In several projects I have studied aspects of the regulation of oil and gas activities, such as risk governance related to acute pollution and normal operational activity. Other central research themes are integrated, ecosystem-based management, marine spatial planning and Arctic marine governance. Currently, I work on projects that study weather and sea ice information systems and how these are used among actors in the shipping-, cruise- and fishing industry in the Arctic. Theoretically, I draw most of my inspiration from Science and Technology Studies.
