Roxana Sarion

Stipendiat i spansk litteratur og kultur
Institutt for språk og kultur

Stillingsbeskrivelse:

Her research focuses on the Encounters and Cultural Transfers in Colonial Hispanic Literature and the significant role played by the missionaries as mediators in the relentless clashes between the indigenous and the Christian worlds. In her PhD dissertation she examines an understudied colonial missionary text written by the Franciscan friar Matías Ruiz Blanco, Conversion de Piritu de indios cumanagotos, palenques y otros (1690), which sheds new light on the process of conversion to Christianity in Latin America.

She conducts her PhD project under the supervision of Associate Prof. Carlos F. Cabanillas Cárdenas and Prof. Otto Zwartjes.
