As a part of the formal training as PhD supervisors (forskningsveiledningskurs) and to promote supervision skills among all teachers, BFE is arranging a third faculty-specific Research Supervision Seminar. The ambition of BFE is to provide these seminars on supervision to facilitate dialogue and development among supervisors, and the themes of the seminars are chosen based on the wishes of the participants.

The lectures will be streamed (10:00-11:00 and 12:15-13:00) and will be available for 2 years here.

Pre work

1)     Admission conversation

• Discuss with your co-workers in your group about what themes should be included in the admission conversation with a new PhD-fellow.
• Reflect on the reception, information and expectation clarification you got when you first started as PhD-fellow. Try to identify themes that should be included in the conversation.

2) Open access and open data

• Ask your co-workers about their practice to achieve open access publishing of articles and data.
• What percentage of your articles are gold access, green access and hybrid type?
• What data do you have, or will you have in the future, that could be published open access?
• What experience do you have with developing a data management plan?
