Course content

To continue a scientific career after completing a PhD degree, a research grant may be an option. A good idea is needed, but not enough. This course will give insight to the proposal evaluation process, how to interpret a research call, and academic and administrative requirements needed to write successful research proposals.

Prior to the course, you are asked to submit a one-page draft of your research idea. The course starts with three days of lectures and practical exercises, followed by a month where you can work on your draft proposal with support from an experienced mentor. The two last course days are reserved for oral presentations of your proposals, which enables instant feedback from your peers before the submission of a final proposal draft (exam). You will also be the opponent of one of your peers¿ proposals. The exam forms a solid basis for a future, real proposal.
