Introduction to cloud computing and the Azure Datalake - Two guest lectures by Tor Kreutzer and Jan-Ove Karlberg, Microsoft

Tor Kreutzer is a software engineer at Microsoft. He completed his M.S in computer science in 2012, and started working for Microsoft in 2013. Tor has since worked directly with many of Microsofts cloud environments, including SharePoint, O365 and Azure. Tor lives and works i Tromsø.

Jan-Ove Karlberg has been a software engineer at Microsoft for the last three years. He received his M.S from The Arctic University of Tromsø in 2014. While at Microsoft, most of his time has been spent working on cloud services that handle huge amounts of data, serve queries with very low latency, or both. He currently resides in Tromsø, Norway – one of very few places where it is possible to live within walking distance of a major tech company.

These two guest lectures gives an introduction to cloud computing and the Azure Datalake, and is a part of the class INF-2202 Concurrent and Data-Intensive Programming. More information: https://inf-2202-f17.github.io/. We also want to invite our academic staff, PhDs, and (master level) students.

Academic (professional) contact person is associate professor Lars Ailo Bongo.
