Stillingsbeskrivelse

Minna Johanna Niemi er førsteamanuensis i engelsk litteratur ved Institutt for språk og kultur. Hun tok sin doktorgrad i engelsk ved The University at Buffalo i 2011 (Representations of History in African Diasporic Literatures and the Politics of Postmodernism). Hun har fullført et postdoktorprosjekt på postkoloniale afrikansk litteratur ved University of Turku, Finland, sponset av Finlands Akademi. Hennes forsknings- og undervisningsinteresser omfatter postkoloniale litterære studier, engelskspråklig afrikansk litteratur og  traumetematikk og etikk. Hennes artikler har fokusert på afro amerikansk litteratur og postkolonialisme. Hun har skrivet en bok om temaet medfølelse og ansvar i moderne afrikansk litteratur: Complicity and Responsibility in Contemporary African Writing: The Postcolony Revisited (Routledge, 2021).
