The 8th Munin Conference on Scholarly Publishing 2013: Entering the Next Stage
UiT er nasjonalt ledende når det gjelder open access og har en offensiv OA-politikk. Institusjonen har vært villig til å sette handlinger bak og legge ressurser i for at dette skal bli noe mer enn et styringsdokument.
Muninkonferansen har bidratt til å berike diskusjonen og alminneliggjøre open access som tema ved UiT.
Årets konferanse vil bringe inn nye momenter.
For ansatte og studenter fra UiT er det gratis deltakelse på selve konferansen (ikke middag); påmelding er nødvendig for å få lunsj. Konferansen er også åpen for drop-in deltakere alle dager hvis det er spesielle punkter i programmet som har interesse (men da uten lunsj).
Hovedtema:
- Open Access mandates in general, with a special focus on open access funder mandates from EU and the Research Council of Norway
- Scholarly communication in the humanities and social sciences. Open access – threats or possibilities in HSS publishing.
- Licensing policies in open access. Maximum outreach and maximum influence – are the two objectives conflicting?
Innledere:
- Jean-François Dechamp, European Commission: Horizon 2020 (EU): an open access funder mandate. Jean-François Dechamp is an open access policy officer from the open access team of European Commission, DG Research & Innovation.
- David Prosser, Research Libraries UK: What's 'Open' about open access? The Vital Role of Copyright and Licenses. David Prosser is the executive Director of RLUK, supporting research libraries in the UK and Ireland.
- Eelco Ferwerda, OAPEN Foundation: Open access in humanities and social sciences. Eelco Ferwerda is the director of the OAPEN Foundation, which is dedicated to open access books in Humanities and Social Sciences.
Av andre bidragsytere har vi Forskningsrådet som har meldt interesse for å presentere sine tanker om fremtidig finansieringsmodell for nasjonale vitenskapelige tidsskrifter, fire internasjonale utgivere som får en halvtime hver på å presentere deres svar på utfordringene innenfor ett eller flere av konferansens tema, og vi får presentert erfaringer fra andre europeiske land.
