At Skoarrojohka west of Suovvejàvri/Bergebyvatnet in Nesseby municipality, we have a field station that is used in connection with fieldwork in the study area "Vestre Jakobselv". The field station was built by UiT in 2019 and contains everything needed to live and work there both summer and winter. There are 8 beds divided between two bedrooms. Furthermore, there is a large living room with good facilities for cooking and relaxing after a long day in the field. In addition, great emphasis has been placed on having good facilities for post-processing biological samples taken in the field, and ample storage space for scientific equipment.

HUBEHYTTA (cabin/field station)
In the middle of the COAT study area "Komagdalen" lies Hubehytta. The cabin is owned by Varanger Kraft, but UiT has entered into a rental agreement so that COAT has access to the cabin during field periods. Hubehytta underwent a necessary upgrade during the fall of 2022 and the summer of 2023, with the construction of an outhouse, as well as expansion and renovation of the cabin. This means that the cabin is now well suited as a field station for COAT, with storage in the outhouse, a separate bedroom with 4 sleeping places, and a more spacious living room than before.
