Amanda Ziegler

Postdoktor

Stillingsbeskrivelse

I am a benthic ecologist interested in how environmental conditions affect community structure and function of polar and deep-sea benthic communities. I am particularly interested in how changes in productivity, sea-ice extent or concentration affect pelagic-benthic coupling processes and broader biogeography. I am currently working as part of the Nansen Legacy project exploring spatial and temporal patterns within the benthic food web structure of the Northern Barents Sea. I use stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen as the main tool to determine food web structure and trophic position of organisms within the benthic food web, but also rely on environmental data collected from the broader project to help understand the context of the patterns we observe.
