Saints and Scoundrels

Come along and wrap up the year with some intriguing stories from the past. There are both good and bad characters to be seen in our church art exhibition, and Per Helge Nylund introduces us to several of them in this guided tour on Tuesday, 30th December at 1.00PM.

Why is a former king of Norway depicted both as a saint and as a monstrous dragon? Who gave their faces to the robbers crucified along with Christ in a 17th Century scene? Why is Adam bereft of his mustache, who murdered Ole the Vicar,  and who turned the Holy Mother into his own wife?

The art pieces in the collection of Tromsø Museum have a lot to reveal, and they'll never be quite the same to you after this tour.

The tour is given in English and is free of charge, all you need is a valid entrance ticket to the museum. Welcome!
