Science World Cafe: Global Food Systems & Genetically Modified Organisms
At this Science World Café, speakers from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe will present their views on the big issues concerning global food systems and the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The audience will then be given a chance to ask questions and engage in interactive discussions with both the invited speakers and a range of international participants taking part in GenØks annual Biosafety Course. The event will be a dynamic way for the people of Tromsø to explore important issues surrounding GMOs and global food systems together with scientists, regulators and civil society organisers from around the world.
Everyone is welcome!
Science Cafés involve scientists coming to a café to talk with members of the public about a topic of shared interest. They are interactive events where the scientists hope to learn as much as the other participants. The World Café is a technique to engage diverse people in lively discussions on topics that matter. GenØk’s Science World Café will be a combination of both of these things.
Drinks & Snacks will be provided and the event will formally take place in English, although multiple languages will be in attendance
