Peter Bjerregaard Professor of Arctic Health at the University of Southern Denmark and the Directorate of Health in Greenland.

Peter Bjerregaard
He was district medical officer in northern Greenland in the early 80's and has dedicated his life to the study of public health in Greenland. His main areas of interest are social epidemiology, diet, and risk factors for cardiovascular disease and diabetes. He has been the PI of several countrywide population health surveys in Greenland.

Eva Bonefeld-Jørgensen Associated Professor in Human Toxicology at the Institute of Public Health, University of Aarhus, Denmark.

Eva Cecilie Bonefeld-Jørgensen
She has been involved in Arctic research since 1997 with focus on Cellular & Molecular Toxicology in humans in relation to exposure to persistent organic pollutants (POPs). Her main interest is to explore the basic mechanisms (e.g. integrated xenobiotic serum POP activity in relation to oxidative stress, cancer and genetic susceptibility) of health effects in relation to POP exposure. She has for several years been research leader of a research group including 4 PhD and 1 assistant professor and a technical assistant. The 1st of May 2008 she will be the head of the Centre of Arctic Environmental Medicine (CAM) at the University of Aarhus. She has many different international contacts and cooperation partly based on participation in several EU projects.

Arja Rautio M.D., Research professor, Centre for Arctic Medicine, Thule Institute, University of Oulu, Finland

Arja Rautio
The focus areas of her research are xenobiotic metabolism and pharmaco/toxicokinetic modelling, environmental toxicology, risk assessment (e.g. new biomarkers of chemical exposure) and environmental health. Dr. Rautio has been working as a private doctor in the field of occupational health care over 15 years.
