For the period 2005-2007 the Icelandic group has received a grant from the Icelandic Research Centre (RANNÍS) to carry out a study of syntactic variation in Iceland and the Faroe Islands. This project combines ScanDiaSyn's efforts to study the geographic dimension of syntactic variation with a more specific objective of also capturing variation across age groups and other sociolinguistic variables. A fuller description of the project can be viewed here.
