– Network meetings are important! (Don’t overestimate the power of e-mail! Meetings are the best deadlines!)

– Be generous with time on your meetings! Create a good atmosphere! (Progress is made also outside the program.)

– Find one or more dedicated mates within the network, and worship them! (Many (often senior) researchers are so busy and/or overworked that you can’t really count on them.)

–Applying for project money is laborious and time consuming – develop strategies and prepare well in advance of the deadlines! (Because you do need those money...)
