The University of Tromsø is implementing a programme for Professional education: Førstelektorprogrammet. Target group is staff at our programmes of professional study and educations where dissemination of researchbased knowledge in practical fields is central. Close relations to practice in reseach and development is substantial for professional studies aiming to provide students with performance skills and actionbased knowledge.

The Programme for Professional education consists of an educational and a mentoring section. The educational section contain courses in methodology, seminars and professional meetings. Financial support is further provided for mentoring. An operating subsidy is further provided as well as up to four years with 50% of working time for reseach and development by release from educational duties. Successful candidates on the Programme for Professional education have engaged in work of comparable quality and extent as that of a PhD degree. |
