INF-2900 Software engineering

Contents This subject gives a theoretical and practical background for the development of large data systems. The lectures cover models, techniques and approach methods for system development, tools to develop systems, documentation techniques, quality assurance, organization of system development, users' participation, supplies management, personnel and time planning.

Recommended previous qualifications INF-1101 Data structures and algorithms, INF-2200 Computer architecture and organization, INF-2201 Operating systems fundamentals, INF-2300 Computer networks, INF-2700 Databases

Coursework requirements Project assignments

Exam and assessment Spring and Fall exams. Exam includes a project work during the semester, graded 50%. Oral presentation will be claimed. The course has a final written exam (3 hours) graded 50%. One common grade will be given by letter A-F.

Date(s) of written examination 05.06.2008 The exam date is preliminary and may be subject to change. Definitive exam date will be announced on the notice boards at the faculties in the beginning of May for the spring semester and in the beginning of November for the autumn semester.
