Reactivate Matlab license

IMPORTANT message to users that have installed MATLAB on laptops and private computers  – you might need to reactivate your MATLAB license!

The current license are valid until late April/early May. Sixty days prior to the license expiring, users receive warnings about their license expiring when they use MATLAB. If the license expires, users cannot continue to use MATLAB.

To reactivate your copy of MATLAB:

1.            Start MATLAB

2.            In the Home tab, in the Resources section, select Help > Licensing > Activate Licenses.

3.            Choose «Activate automatically using the Internet» and follow the instructions.

You will need to log in using your Mathworks account. If you do not have a Mathworks account, you need to create one. Use your UiT e-mail address (employees: firstname.lastname@uit.no) (students: abc123@post.uit.no). If you don't use your UiT e-mail address the activation of Mathworks will fail.

If you need the Activation key, you will find it on LiReg. See instructions at the Helpdesk website under "MatLab" to find detailed instructions of how to install and activate Matlab, and how to retrieve the Activation key.
