Anett jobber som forsker i prosjektet SECVIR. Hun underviser farmakologi til masterstudenter i biomedisin, tannlegestudenter og medisinstudenter, samt veterinær mikrobiologi til farmasistudenter. I tillegg veileder hun både bachelor-, master- og PhD-studenter. Anett sine forskningsinteresser er infeksjonsbiologi og verts-mikrobe interaksjoner.

    Forskningsinteresser

    I prosjektet SECVIR undersøker vi om endotelcellene i leverens minste blodkar tar opp og fjerner virus fra blodbanen. Leverens sinusoidale endotelceller (LSEC) er viktige renovasjons- og forsvarsceller som fjerner avfallsmolekyler og mikrobielle molekyler fra blodbanene. LSEC utgjør kroppens hovedpopulasjon av scavenger endotelceller, som er en spesiell type endotelceller med svært stor endocytoseaktivitet. Vårt hovedmål er å undersøke om ulike typer virus elimineres via leveren ved hjelp av de spesialiserte LSEC og dermed øke forståelsen for hvilken rolle disse cellene har i kroppens forsvar mot virusinfeksjoner. 

    Dette arbeidet er en veldig spennende utvidelse av min forskningsinteresse som er cellulære mekanismer ved infeksjonssykdommer, inkludert zoonotiske sykdommer. I min post doc periode hadde jeg spesielt fokus på cellebiologi og immunologi hos arktiske dyrearter, med utvikling av infeksjonsmodeller i primære cellekulturer isolert fra aktuelle ville Arktiske dyr. Jeg er også interessert i kombinerte effekter av klima- og miljøforandringer på helse og evnen til å bekjempe sykdom.

    I tillegg til dette er jeg glad i å formidle forskning til store og små.
