Professor Abhik Ghosh, a member of the Center for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, has edited a special issue of Coordination Chemistry Reviews dedicated to Theory and Computing in Contemporary Coordination Chemistry. The volume presents a broad range of reviews on the pervasive role that density functional theory plays in contemporary (d-block) transition metal chemistry. The Table of Contents and editoral provide a good idea of the range of topics covered. DFT is not perfect of course, especially applied to transition metal systems, and the cartoon at the top affords a humorous look at the issue
