Skal man forstå havets evne til å ta opp klimagassen CO₂, trenger man mer kunnskap om karbonkretsløpet. Og der er hoppekrepsen Oithona en av de mest ukjente brikkene. Camilla Svensen har nå fått stipend for lære Oithona bedre å kjenne.

Dr. Svetlana Murzina was awarded the Gold medal in Moscow, at the Presidium of Russian Academy of Science on 2^nd of April 2013. Dr. Murzina, research scientist at the environmental biochemistry laboratory, the Institute of Biology, Karelian Research Centre, Russian Academy of Sciences was granted the medal for her research work "Ecological and biochemical adaptations of lipids of some commercial fishes and their food objects in the Arctic and Sub-Arctic". Svetlana also has been awarded in 2011 with the Presidential grant which support the young scientists and their research.
