Safety in the laboratory and on sea and land expeditions

General information
The course will give insight in different parts of the EHC to make sure that laboratory work, field work and sea expeditions are completed in a secure way.
The course will consist of one compulsory general module (part 1A, B and C) and nine specialized modules (part 2-10). The participants should choose relevant modules among part 2-10. Refering to a letter from the University Director 19.10.2007 all employees working with chemicals, biological material, ionizing radiation, participates in on land or at sea expeditions should participate in relevant parts of the safety course. The University Director also asks all employees with long period of employment to take part in relevant parts of the safety course.
Attendance is compulsory. The course will be arranged in the beginning of each semester, where the spring course is held in Norwegian and the autumn course in English. If participants are absent from the obligatory part they are not allowed to work on their own in the lab. Every day attendance will therefore be noted visually! If participants are sick or absent of other legitimate reasons, they have to complete training in the lab with employees with approved course.
