Admission

Application deadlines
The deadline for all 8000 courses are 6 weeks before the course starts unless another date is specified. There is usually no waiting list on a course and it is not possible to enroll on a course manually after the deadline has expired.

How do you apply for an 8000 course at Helsefak
Use the electronic application form by following the link next to the topic in question. Note that you must fill out an application for each course you are applying admission to.

External students must document their basis for admission
External students must remember to post certified documentation of education and if relevant documentation of their status as a PhD student/student at the Medical student research program (ie, stamped and signed of an authorized person). The signature and stamp on the copy of your documentation must be original, we therefore do not accept documentation that is sent by e-mail. Confirmation of student status should be from your home student administration, confirmation from your supervisor or copy of award letter is not considered as valid documentation.

Documentation of education and if relevant, status as PhD student / student at the Medical student research program at another institution, is to be sent to the following address:

Who can apply for admission to the 8000 courses
The following students may apply for the 8000 courses, in order of priority:

1. PhD students, research fellows and students at the Medical student research program at the University of Tromsø
2. Participants in the Associate Professor Program
3. PhD students and students at the Medical student research program at other universities
4. People who have a minimum master's degree or equivalent, but are not admitted to a PhD program.

If there are more applicants than available spaces in the course, students will be given priority from the category 1 to 4. Please note that some courses may have additional admission requirements and / or priority keys. This would then be stated in the course description for each course.

Complainints about the awarding of grades
Complaints regarding the grading of an exam must be sent to the Section for Research Services within three weeks of the announcement of the examination results. The written complaint must be sent to: forskningstjenester@helsefak.uit.no

Re-sit exam
Deadline for registration for continuation exam is 15 August in the fall semester and 15 January in the spring semester.

Registration for re-sit exam is done on a separate form. The form must be signed and sent by postal to the Section of Research Services. See also the examination regulations for more information.

Transcript of record
Transcripts can be ordered via StudentWeb. The transcript will be sent by mail to your registered term address, make sure to check/update your semester address before ordering the transcript. You may also get your transcript by meeting in person at the "infotorget" at Helsefak.
