Norstruct projects
Internal NORSTRUCT projects are to a large extent dealing with molecular studies of fish pathogenic organism and fish defence systems. The psychrophilic fish pathogen, Vibrio salmonicida, is used as model organism in the study of systems involved in virulence, oxidative stress, etc. The structure-function relation studies of these systems are supported by proteomics and functional studies. The "systems" studies are strongly coupled with studies of more basic problems, i.e. molecular basis for cold-activity, protein recognition and DNA repair enzymes.
